Custom Built Computer Systems
Custom Built versus Store Bought, that is the question. Why invest in a custom-built computer system when you can simply buy one out of the box and ready for use from your local retailer? The answer is simple; Not all computers are created equally. You could be an avid gamer, engineer, graphic designer, video editor or powerhouse enthusiast, it’s up to you.
In this article, we’ll explain the benefits of utilizing a custom-built computer rather than a traditional store-bought PC. Understanding the options, you have with the purchase of a custom machine will greatly benefit those who do their research.
A Case Study (true story):
A client approached us during the holiday season, to purchase a custom computer system for his teenage son. His son had received honors in school, and the father wanted to reward him for his accomplishments. That father requested a computer system built for the avid gamer. The computer required a sophisticated graphics card for high performance visual when gaming. The hard drive needed to be a high capacity storage solid state drive for even better performance. There needed to be an excessive amount of RAM and ports available on the motherboard for future upgrades to the PC. To make things even more interesting, the father wanted a unique computer case with a liquid cooling system for the graphics card and CPU to give a little edge to the physical appearance of the computer. The PC requirements were only part of the request. The system also required a total of three monitors at the highest resolution possible, a mouse and keyboard set specifically made for gaming, and the installation of the teenager’s favorite games and software.
While this case study may be a little extreme for some, the unique requests and features required are something we manage daily. We built an exceptional PC with room to grow and ready for years of enjoyment. Our understanding of the build from start to finish lead to the creation of a truly impressive computer system. We purchased all the hardware with the client’s approval, providing all stats and expected performance details. Once all the components arrived at our office, we began to build. We started with the physical installation of all the components, then the main drivers and software to run the operating system. Once the foundation was built, we installed the requested games and software, and optimize the system for the best performance. After the project was finished, we then personally installed the PC at the family’s residence. Regular support has been provided ever since, and the client is enjoying the best of PC gaming to this day.
You may not be in the market for a completely custom PC, but you could be in the market for something better than you currently have. If you believe it’s time to upgrade or replace your current PC, reach out to the pros at Kinetisys.
